The concept for Kansas Citys Osteria Il Centro (meeting place at the center) originated from small, local restaurants scattered throughout the Mediterranean. For centuries, neighborhood folks have met in these establishments to enjoy wine from the hillsides and freshly made cuisine in a casual atmosphere. This type of ambience is found at 51st and Main Street (South Plaza). The upscale-casual, Italian Bistro yokes 3 1/2 star dining with a Wine Spectator "Best of Award of Excellence", and friendly service to form an artistic, and candlelit atmosphere for its patrons. Its where Garlic is the Catsup, and reservations are not accepted.
