Description:
MORE THAN A MUSEUM
The offerings at the American Jazz Museum extend beyond
its permanent exhibit to include the Blue Room jazz club,
Gem Theater, Changing Gallery, Jay McShann Pavilion and
the Horace M. Peterson III Visitors Center.
Through these venues, visitors are exposed to the rich
heritage and history of Kansas City, fine art, film, paintings,
live concerts and intimate performances, community events
and more. By connecting the music to other areas of
interest through unique programming, the Museum offers
visitors the opportunity to view jazz through a different lens.
Of the hundreds of events presented by the Museum each
year, more than half are free and open to the public. Were
proud to provide accessible programming to the community
and to those visiting Kansas City.
